Quoted from Maximum PSI, the designer of this crank hub solution (V1):

We are proud to release our keyed crank hub kit for the S55 and N55 BMW motors. This keyed solution eliminates the friction washer design that BMW used to affix the crank hub, timing gear, and oil pump gear to the end of the crankshaft.

The original flawed design allows the timing gear to spin independently from the crank, especially when the motor is modified. Best case scenario the motor needs to be re-timed with new components. Worst case, the valves contact the pistons requiring a complete overhaul. Common symptoms are rough running and camshaft angle deviation faults. We had this issue several times on our shop F80 M3, one of which required valve replacement.  At that point we had this solution machined, and we installed it in our car and a few other test cars last year. We went from a failure at each event to setting new records at the track and on the dyno. We have now achieved a best 1/4 mile time of 9.35@151mph, and we just recently made 899whp/805tq on our Dynojet on E85 fuel. We have two other cars that have made over 1150whp.

We are typically very quick and have a 24-48 hour turnaround time. Transit time depends on your order and which warehouse we are shipping from, but typical transit times are between 5-7 business days from one side of the US to the other.

Majority of the items we offer do ship free to the lower contiguous 48 states. States that require plane or boat to reach (such as Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, etc) do NOT qualify for free shipping. Please contact us to inquire about international shipping costs. During checkout, you will know which items ship free and which have shipping costs associated with them. In general, larger/heavier items will have additional shipping costs (body kits, wheels/rims, etc)

Unfortunate Kies Motorsports no longer does customer installs (with the exception of crank hubs - we still do thos inhouse). Our HQ is solely reserved for filming, office space, and shipping/receiving.
