by Bryan Kiefer 30 Apr 2024

With the Ultralink you can tune your vehicle with APR Engine Control Unit (ECU) and APR Transmission Control Unit (TCU) Upgrades right from the convenience of your own home, all on your own! It connects your vehicle directly to the Ultralink Marketplace, which is our online store filled with tens of thousands of tunes supporting most of the vehicles in our catalogue.

The Ultralink lets you download and install new engine and transmission tunes, update to new file versions, jump to a new stage, change octanes and program modes, configure adjustable features such as launch control, torque levels, speed limiters, and other features, read and clear fault codes, reset flash counters, and more! How to Flash tune your car with Ultralink:

Step 1: Purchase an APR Ultralink and attach your VIN to your order. KIES will link your Ultralink to your VIN behind the scenes. (https://www.kiesmotorsports.com/products/apr-ultralink-at-home-flashing-tuning?_pos=1&_sid=c455b48ab&_ss=r)

Step 2: Set up your battery charger. It's recommended to use a 20 Amp charger.

Step 3: Plug in your APR Ultralink to the OBD and switch the car into Accessory Mode. Note: Do NOT start the vehicle.

Step 4: Visit https://ultralink.goapr.com/ via a Chrome browser and create an APR Ultralink account. After your account is created, please sign in.

Step 5: Click the button that says "Create a Tune".

Step 6: APR will automatically scan and perform any firmware updates, after selecting the device in the next step.

Step 7: When prompted, select your device and select "connect".

Step 8: Allow 1-3 minutes for the device to do a firmware update. This process is automated.

 Step 9: Click "Configure ECU".

Step 10: At this screen, you are presented with the tune options. Select your tune and on the next screen you will be presented with a payment portal to purchase the tune. The APR Ultralink does NOT include a tune file. They must be purchased separately through the APR Marketplace. If you've had your vehicle tuned by an APR dealer in the past, your vin will auto sync and you will be able to flash your vehicle from home.

Step 11: Choose your fuel octane.

Step 12: Choose if you'd like to use APR's Sport Exhaust Sound option. (This feature has an extra cost).

Step 13: A payment screen will be displayed for the tune and options selected.

Step 14: Select "configure my vehicle".

Step 15: Select your Ultralink Device. Once you connect, it will automatically start tuning the vehicle. This process takes about 5 minutes.

Step 16: While flashing, you will be presented with a variety of lights and errors. This is totally normal and will all be resolved.

Step 17: Once the tune is finished, you'll be asked to turn the car off for 5 seconds and then turn it back on to the accessory position and select the button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 18: Done! Once you've done that, your car has been tuned and you're ready to have some fun!
