How It Works
The Kies Valve Controller intercepts the signal between your car’s ECU and the valve actuators. When you activate Button 1 on the wireless remote, the controller overrides the factory signal and commands the valves to remain fully open regardless of RPM, throttle position, or drive mode. Button 2 passes the factory signal through unchanged, restoring original valve behavior instantly.
Installation Steps
- Safely raise and secure vehicle on jack stands or a lift for access to exhaust components. Bumper removal is necessary.
- Locate exhaust valve actuators (GT3: rear-mounted; Boxster/Cayman: side-mounted underneath).
- Carefully unplug OEM connectors from the valve actuators.
- Install the Kies module inline between the factory harness and valve actuators using the supplied OEM-style connectors.
- Secure the controller module in a protected location using the provided mounting hardware.
- Follow the simple pairing procedure to sync the wireless remote with the controller.
- Start the vehicle and verify both button functions at idle and while driving.
- Confirm all connections are secure and routed away from heat sources.

This is a sound and driving-experience enhancement only. It does not modify boost targets, wastegate strategy, torque limits, ignition timing, fuel trims, lambda targets, turbocharger shaft speed limits, or any engine calibration parameter. It does not tune, flash, or alter your ECU in any way.
⚠ Notice for T-Hybrid / E-Turbo Owners (992.2 GTS)
The valve controller itself does not change turbo shaft speeds or any calibration parameter. However, community reports have documented e-turbo failures on T-Hybrid vehicles running OPF-delete downpipes and aggressive free-flow midpipes — failures associated with exhaust hardware changes, not valve controllers alone.
If you are stacking this controller with other exhaust modifications on a T-Hybrid vehicle, we strongly recommend: (1) avoiding generic off-the-shelf tunes paired with major exhaust hardware changes, and (2) working with a qualified tuner who can datalog turbo shaft speed, EGTs, and knock. If you are purchasing this controller purely for valve control on an otherwise stock T-Hybrid vehicle, these concerns do not apply.
Naturally Aspirated Applications (GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 Touring, 982/718 Boxster & Cayman)
For all naturally aspirated applications covered by this controller, the turbo-related concerns above do not apply. This controller has a long track record as a safe, reversible sound and driveability modification on these platforms.

Kies Motorsports warrants this controller against manufacturing defects for 1 year from the date of purchase. We do not warrant, and are not responsible for, any damage to OEM exhaust valve actuators, control modules, turbochargers, catalysts, particulate filters, or any other vehicle component resulting from use in combination with other aftermarket modifications, tunes, or hardware changes.

Which Porsche models is this compatible with?

Will this void my Porsche factory warranty?
The controller is a non-invasive modification that does not permanently alter factory components. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty simply because of an aftermarket part. If a dealer believes the controller caused a specific failure, they could deny coverage for that repair. The controller can be easily removed for service visits.
Does it work with my aftermarket exhaust?
Yes — it works with factory exhaust systems (with or without PSE) and aftermarket systems that retain the electronic valve actuators. Popular systems from Akrapovic, Milltek, Fabspeed, and Agency Power typically retain valve functionality. If your aftermarket exhaust completely removed the valve system, the controller cannot be used.
Can I use this on a 992 Carrera or Turbo?
No. This controller is specifically designed for GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 Touring, 992.2 GTS, and 982 Boxster/Cayman models. The exhaust valve architecture differs between these performance models and standard Carrera/Turbo variants. Kies offers a separate valve controller designed specifically for 992 Carrera and Turbo models.
How does this compare to deleting the exhaust valves entirely?
Unlike permanent valve deletion, the Kies Controller maintains full valve functionality while giving you control over when they’re open. You get aggressive sound when desired and civilized operation when needed. Valve deletion also creates constant loud exhaust noise that can be problematic for street driving, noise-restricted track days, and residential areas. The controller is also completely reversible.
Is it safe to use on track days?
Absolutely. The controller is engineered for track use and performs flawlessly during extended high-RPM operation and multiple heat cycles. Many GT3 and Cayman GT4 track-day enthusiasts use the controller to maximize exhaust flow during sessions while maintaining the ability to drive quietly through residential areas to and from the track.
What is the wireless remote range?
The wireless remote has an effective range of approximately 50–100 feet in open areas. It uses reliable RF technology that is not affected by weather conditions, allowing control from inside the vehicle, garage, or paddock area.
Does the same controller work for both 991.2 and 992 GT3?
Yes. Both 991.2 GT3 (2017–2019) and 992 GT3 (2021+) models are compatible with this valve controller. While exhaust routing differs between generations, both use similar electronic valve actuator systems. Installation procedures differ slightly between generations.
