*CONVERSION STUD 14×1.25-14×1.5* 78mm ENDURANCE RACE Stud Kit
Conversion Stud
14×1.25 → 14×1.5
78mm Endurance Race Kit
The strongest stud we carry — built for cars that see real track time. Converts your fine-thread BMW hub to a coarse thread that's nearly impossible to cross-thread.
The fine 14×1.25 thread pitch on F and G chassis hubs is notorious at the track. Repeated wheel swaps, hot lug nuts, and tired hands make cross-threading almost inevitable — and one bad install can destroy a wheel hub.
This kit threads into the stock 14×1.25 hub and presents a coarse 14×1.5 thread to your lug nuts. Coarse threads are far more forgiving to install quickly and under pressure — exactly what you need in a tire-change scenario.
The Endurance Race Stud uses a proprietary forged steel alloy formulation — the same supply chain as nuclear power plant fastener manufacturers. Grade 12.9 hardness means an axial tensile strength of 260,000 lbs minimum. For comparison, the commonly used Grade 10.9 studs max out around 190,000 lbs. If you're running back-to-back sessions or relying on your hardware all weekend, this is the spec you want.
Larger diameter shank vs. stock studs provides increased shear strength under lateral load.
Despite the diameter increase, nut threading remains smooth and consistent. No binding, no galling.
Designed for cars that see real grid time — endurance events, time attack, or any application with frequent wheel changes.
Manufactured in the USA by a supplier that produces fasteners for nuclear power plants. Traceability and consistency are built into the process.
Stop risking your wheel hub every time a wheel goes on and off. The coarse thread is forgiving — your hub stays clean.
Threads directly into your existing 14×1.25 hub — no drilling, no machining, no modifications required.

Not sure about your hub thread? Check your existing lug bolts or contact us before ordering. Some non-M models use 14×1.5 from the factory and do not require this conversion.
- Remove the wheel and clean the hub face thoroughly. Make sure the threaded holes are free of old thread locking compound or debris.
- Apply a small amount of blue thread locker (Loctite 243 or equivalent) to the 14×1.25 install end of each stud.
- Thread the stud into the hub using the double nut method: thread two 14×1.5 nuts onto the lug side of the stud, tighten them against each other, then use the outer nut to drive the stud into the hub. Torque to spec, then remove both nuts.
- Install your wheel and torque lug nuts to spec using the 14×1.5 thread side. Recommended: 88–100 ft-lbs depending on nut type.
- After your first drive session, re-check torque. Re-torque after each session for the first few outings.

Yes — this kit changes your lug side thread from 14×1.25 to 14×1.5. If you're currently using factory BMW lug bolts, those won't work. You'll need a set of 14×1.5 lug nuts (conical or ball seat depending on your wheel). Nut options are available as variants on this listing.
Absolutely. The Endurance stud is overkill for street use, which means it's perfect. Plenty of customers run this daily because they want the security of 12.9 grade hardware regardless of track use.
Both convert 14×1.25 to 14×1.5. The Black Bullet Nose kit is rated to 10.9 grade (~190,000 lbs tensile). This Endurance kit uses the upgraded 12.9 proprietary forged alloy for higher strength and is recommended for track / endurance / motorsport use.
Yes. The extended thread design is rated to accept up to a 20mm spacer. For spacers thicker than 20mm you'd want to look at a longer stud — reach out and we can help you find the right option.
Each kit is a complete set for your full vehicle — available in 4-lug or 5-lug configuration. One kit covers all four wheels. If you need a different quantity, contact Motorsport Hardware directly at info@kiesmotorsports.com.
