BMW / MINI / Toyota Supra DME Bench Unlock
For eligible DMEs produced before June 2020. Confirm compatibility with Kies before purchasing, removing or shipping your DME.
Free DME unlock with a compatible Bootmod3 or MHD tune
Add an eligible engine tune license or full custom tune and the matching DME unlock to the same cart. The unlock discount applies automatically at checkout. One matching unlock service per order; N63/S63 service covers both DMEs. Tune purchases are charged separately. Hardware, adapters, map-pack add-ons, transmission tunes and flashing labor alone do not qualify. Cannot be combined with other discounts.
Unlock only: $150 per DME. N63/S63: $300 for two DMEs.
Mail-in customers arrange and pay for shipping to Kies. Checkout charges only for return shipping from Kies to you. Shipping remains payable when the unlock is free. Choose an available ground or expedited return option at checkout. For an in-store appointment, choose in-store service/pickup; no shipping charge applies.
Required verification before removal or shipping
Contact Kies Motorsports to complete the required verification process before removing or shipping your DME. Eligibility depends on the DME production date, part number and current software, not vehicle model year alone. We do not unlock DMEs that have not completed verification.
Select the matching engine option. N63 and S63 V8 engines use two DMEs; both must be supplied and unlocked. The two-DME service is $300 before any eligible tune discount.
Mail-in service: shipping is paid both ways
- Arrange and pay for your own shipment to Kies after compatibility is confirmed. Package the DME securely and insure it for its replacement value.
- Select and pay for return shipping at checkout. Available options include ground and expedited services, including next-day service where available.
- After the unlock is complete, Kies ships your DME back using the return service you purchased.
Checkout collects only the return shipping charge. It does not purchase an inbound label. The customer pays both shipping legs, including when the unlock is free with a qualifying tune. Carrier transit times are separate from unlock processing. Shipping availability and rates depend on the delivery address.
After purchase and verification, you will receive shipping instructions. Label the unit with your full name, order number, VIN and phone number. Include your return address and email. Label both V8 units as driver or passenger side. Use a sturdy box with cushioning around the connectors.
In-store appointment / pickup
Contact Kies to confirm an appointment and select pickup/in-store service rather than shipping. No shipping charge applies. This bench-unlock service does not include DME removal, reinstallation or tune flashing; arrange any required labor separately. Bring the DME already removed unless Kies has separately confirmed a paid removal/reinstallation service.
What the unlock includes
The selected service covers the eligible DME software unlock and verification. Tune licenses, removal and reinstallation, engine or transmission flashing, hardware and dyno sessions are separate purchases. Purchasing a qualifying compatible Bootmod3 or MHD engine tune in the same cart makes the matching unlock service free; it does not make shipping or labor free.
Processing and future software updates
Typical processing is approximately one business day after receipt and verification. Kies is closed on weekends; units received after hours on Friday or over the weekend are processed on the next business day. Contact Kies for current scheduling.
Dealer programming and over-the-air updates may re-lock the DME and require another paid unlock. Disable automatic vehicle software updates and contact Kies before authorizing programming.
Kies is not responsible for DMEs received dead on arrival or damaged in transit. Package carefully and keep shipment and coverage documentation. Contact Kies with compatibility or shipping questions before sending your DME.
