- iDrive control, full-screen smartphone apps and USB media playback.
- HDMI input for a separately purchased, powered video playback device.
- Support for compatible front and rear camera add-ons.
- Digital Bluetooth audio on supported configurations; older vehicles may require a Combox. AUX audio remains available.
The screen, cameras and external streaming device are not included in the standard kit. Touchscreen control is not supported; steering wheel controls depend on the vehicle. The MMI equalizer works with AUX audio.
Some mirrored content is restricted by app DRM. Smartphone audio and native iDrive radio cannot play simultaneously.
The vendor offers an optional LCI hardware upgrade. Confirm the supplied version before ordering; LCI specifications are not guaranteed by this standard listing.
Installation
Installation generally takes 2–4 hours and requires access to the head unit and screen. The vehicle-specific kit includes the MMI module and wiring harness.
