Holley HydraMat® · Fuel Reservoir System
Stop Fuel Starvation Dead in Its Tracks
The 16-125 is a 3" × 8" rectangular HydraMat with an offset end outlet designed to plug directly into TI Automotive 450LPH and other 11mm OD inlet pumps. Race-proven in the ARCA Racing Series, it uses surface tension and fluid wicking to draw fuel from anywhere in your tank — even on hard cornering, steep inclines, and near-empty conditions.

Why the HydraMat 16-125?
Traditional fuel pickups fail when fuel sloshes away during hard cornering, acceleration, braking, or on inclines. Air enters the system — your engine stumbles, loses power, or stalls completely. The HydraMat solves this with a patent-pending depth media that wicks fuel from every contact point and a built-in internal reservoir that holds fuel at the pickup point under the most extreme conditions.
The 16-125 is the shorter 8" version of the popular 16-111, sized to fit tighter tanks while still delivering full HydraMat performance. The offset end outlet places the pickup at one end of the mat — ideal when space is limited or when the pump needs to mount near a tank wall. Six lock pin positions let you precisely index the HydraMat on the pump for your specific tank layout, and the pin-lock design lets you remove and reposition it without damage — a major advantage over the one-use filter socks included with most pumps.

- 6 lock pin positions to index the HydraMat on the fuel pump for custom tank configurations
- Pin-lock design allows removal & repositioning without damage or loss of retention
- Greatly reduces air ingestion that causes poor performance and engine stalling
- Eliminates need for specialty reservoirs, sumps, and pickup pumps — saves cost and complexity
- Compatible with all gasoline blends including Alcohol, Ethanol, Methanol, and E-85
- Emission Code 5 — legal for street, uncontrolled, and racing applications
- 5–10 year expected service life under normal conditions
- Replacement HydraMat for Retro-Fit modules 12-130, 12-131, 12-132, and 12-133
How It Works
Fluid Wicking
The depth media actively wicks fuel from every area of the mat, channeling it toward the internal reservoir and pickup outlet.
Surface Tension Seal
When any area of the mat is exposed to air, tiny pores seal via surface tension — forcing fuel to be drawn from still-submerged areas.
Internal Reservoir
A built-in reservoir stores fuel at the pickup point, providing continuous supply through the most aggressive cornering and braking.

Important Installation Notes
1.0 Fuel Compatibility
Works with all gasoline blends including Alcohol, Ethanol, Methanol, and E-85. NOT for use with oils, diesel fuels, or any other fluids.
⚠ 2.0 No Pre-Filter Needed
All HydraMats are constructed with a 10-micron depth media — no pre-filtration is required for the fuel pump. Use of an additional pre-filter could result in pump failure.
3.0 Filter Life Expectancy
The HydraMat provides 5–10 years or more depending on fuel type, fuel system cleanliness, driving style, and how aggressively the car is used. Severe duty applications (racing, off-road) should inspect at regular intervals.
⚠ 4.0 HydraMat Cleaning
Debris is imbedded inside the depth media and cannot be removed. Surface cleaning is NOT practical or effective and should NOT be done. In extreme conditions (racing or off-road), check your HydraMat annually.
5.0 Return Hose Location
Secure a minimum of 5/16" I.D. return hose so the discharge is directed toward the pickup connection point and approximately 1" above the HydraMat surface.
⚠ Do NOT Use PTFE Pipe Sealant Paste
Loose particles will be drawn into the fuel pump and cause failure. Use only thread sealants approved for fuel system use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the HydraMat 16-125 require a pre-filter?
No — and you should not add one. All HydraMats use a 10-micron depth media that pre-filters fuel before it reaches the pump. Adding an additional pre-filter upstream can restrict flow and cause pump failure. This is one of the key advantages of the HydraMat system.
Which fuel pumps plug directly into the 16-125?
The TI Automotive 450LPH (F90000267), 400LPH (F90000262), and Walbro GSS342 all plug directly into the 11mm OD outlet. Any pump with an 11mm OD inlet will fit. The 6 lock pin positions let you orient the mat optimally for your tank layout.
What's the difference between the 16-125 and 16-124?
Both are 3" x 8" HydraMats with 11mm outlets. The 16-124 has a Center Outlet (outlet centered on the mat); the 16-125 has an Offset End Outlet (outlet positioned at one end). The offset design is ideal when tank space is limited or the pump inlet is near a tank wall.
Is the HydraMat legal for street use?
Yes. The Holley HydraMat carries Emission Code 5, meaning it is legal for sale or use on Emissions Controlled Vehicles, Uncontrolled (Non-Emissions Controlled) Vehicles, and Racing Use Only Vehicles. It does not affect vehicle emissions and is not covered by emissions regulations.
What mounting kit should I use?
For steel or aluminum tanks, use Click Bond Kit 16-201. For polypropylene or polyethylene tanks, use Click Bond Kit 16-202 (or magnet kit 16-203/16-204 with disc magnets 16-205). Magnet kits are ideal for tanks with small sender openings where the Click Bond system cannot be applied.
How long does the HydraMat last and can I clean it?
The HydraMat provides 5–10 years or more of service life under normal conditions. It cannot be cleaned — debris becomes imbedded inside the depth media and surface cleaning is not effective. For severe duty (racing, off-road), inspect annually and replace as needed.
What return hose setup is required?
Use a minimum 5/16" I.D. return hose. Position the discharge directed toward the pickup connection point and approximately 1" above the HydraMat surface. This helps recirculate fuel back into the reservoir area for maximum efficiency.
