The M-DCT in the E9X M3 is one of the sharpest gearboxes BMW built in that era. Fast, responsive, and surgical when you drive it right. The factory paddles are fine on the commute. On a track day or a canyon road, when your hands are busy and every shift counts, their size and reach start to feel small.

AutoTecknic carbon competition shift paddles replace the factory units with an extended competition-length design finished in a 2x2 twill weave pattern. They are a direct OEM replacement for the E9X M3 with M-DCT, the E70 X5M, and the E71 X6M, with no drilling and no modification.

Vehicle Fitment

Fits the following BMW models with factory steering wheel shift paddles:

• BMW M3 Sedan / E90 (2008-2011): M-DCT only
• BMW M3 Coupe / E92 (2008-2013): M-DCT only
• BMW M3 Convertible / E93 (2008-2013): M-DCT only
• BMW X5M / E70 (2010-2013)
• BMW X6M / E71 (2010-2014)

Manual transmission M3s do not have shift paddles and are not compatible. Select your exact model in the Vehicle Selection menu.

Installation Notes

Direct plug-in replacement for the factory paddles. No drilling, no cutting. If you are not comfortable working near the steering wheel and airbag, have a shop handle it.

1. Confirm your vehicle has factory steering wheel shift paddles (M-DCT on the M3).
2. Remove the factory paddles from the steering wheel.
3. Plug in and mount the AutoTecknic competition paddles in the factory locations.
4. Test upshifts and downshifts before driving.
