Engine Safety: Detonation Defense (System Overview)
M-Engineering’s exclusive Detonation Defense mode introduces a new level of protection never before available on factory ECUs.
If excessive knock is detected, the ECU automatically switches to Map Slot 5 within 20 milliseconds.
This mode temporarily reduces load and boost for 10 seconds, safeguarding critical engine components before seamlessly restoring full power.
This proactive protection logic allows world-record-level performance without sacrificing reliability — proven in competitive racing, drag-strip, and Pikes Peak applications.
