What is an ECA (Ethanol Content Analyzer)?
The CAN Ethanol Content Analyzer (ECA) reads real-time ethanol percentage directly from the Continental E85 sensor, converts it to CAN bus data, and sends accurate ethanol content and fuel temperature to the DME (engine computer). This allows your MHD or EcuTek tune to safely run any blend from E0 to E100+ on the fly.
E85 vs FlexFuel – What's the Difference?
- E85 – A high-octane fuel blend (typically 51–85% ethanol)
- FlexFuel Feature – The ability of the ECU tune to automatically adjust timing, fueling, and boost based on the actual ethanol content detected by the ECA
Without a proper FlexFuel tune + sensor, running E85 blends can cause detonation and severe engine damage.
What is This Kit?
This kit enables a FlexFuel feature for MHD and EcuTek tuned cars. Without the correct tune (for the E85 blend used) the engine does not work right and may get damaged.
