The MMX Performance BMW B48 / B58 / B58TU Cotton Panel Air Filter is one of the simplest and most cost-effective induction upgrades available for the modern BMW four- and six-cylinder turbo range. Engineered as a direct OE-replacement panel filter, the MMX cotton gauze element drops straight into the factory airbox and immediately frees up airflow to the turbo without any of the noise, complexity, or fitment headaches of an open intake.
The cotton gauze media flows substantially better than the OE paper element while still trapping intake debris before it reaches the MAF and turbo. There's a real-world worthwhile gain in airflow on both the four-cylinder B48 and the inline-six B58 / B58TU motors, and because the airbox itself is unmodified, the install is fully reversible, no cutting, no drilling, no permanent modification.
