The MMX Performance BMW B58 Silicone Intake Hose is a direct replacement for the restrictive factory plastic bellows pipe between the airbox and turbo inlet on F2X and F3X chassis B58-powered BMWs. By replacing the OEM pipe with a smooth-bore silicone hose, the MMX kit straightens the airflow path into the turbo for measurable gains in airflow, throttle response, and induction sound.
The factory plastic bellows is shaped to dampen engine bay acoustics, but it does so at the cost of airflow. Its restrictive bore and turbulent surface create a pressure drop right at the turbo inlet, the worst possible location. The MMX silicone hose removes that restriction with a larger-diameter, smooth-bore design and stepped inlet and outlet that maintain a consistent bore with smooth transitions for maximum airflow.
The hose is constructed from high-quality silicone with reinforced silicone elements embedded in critical areas to provide rigidity against deformation under heat or load. Because the engine moves under hard acceleration, MMX engineered just enough compliance into the assembly to absorb engine rock without damaging the intake. The result is a stiffer, higher-flowing connection that holds its shape boost-cycle after boost-cycle.
Finished in a deep gloss black, the silicone hose pairs cleanly with the OEM airbox or any aftermarket intake, and is the ideal companion for the MMX BMW B58 Air Intake Kit. Installation takes around ten minutes with hand tools and is fully reversible.
