The MMX Performance BMW / MINI Wheel Mounting Guide Pin solves a problem specific to cars that use wheel bolts rather than studs. With no stud to hang the wheel on, every wheel change means balancing the weight against the hub with one hand while trying to line up the first bolt with the other, and that is how wheels get scratched, bolts get cross-threaded and brake calipers get caught.

The guide pin screws into one of the hub bolt holes and acts as a temporary stud. The wheel slides straight onto it and hangs there, correctly centered, leaving both hands free to start the remaining bolts. Once they are in, the pin comes out and the final bolt goes in its place.

It is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized for corrosion and wear resistance, at 150mm long, which gives enough reach to hold the wheel clear while it is being located. The rounded, tapered end guides the wheel on without marking the finish, and a knurled section lets it be threaded in and out by hand.

Two thread sizes cover BMW and MINI applications: M12 x 1.5 and M14 x 1.25. Pins are sold individually, and one is enough for the job. Note that if you already run the MMX Stud and Nut Kit, the guide pin is not required, since the studs perform the same function permanently.
