The MMX Performance carbon ceramic rear rotor is the matching rear-axle component to MMX's iron-to-CCB front conversion, engineered as a direct plug-and-play upgrade for the factory iron brake setup on the G80 M3, G82/G83 M4 and G87 M2. No caliper swap, no bracket changes, no recalibration: it bolts to the OE iron-brake hardware and converts the rear axle to full carbon ceramic.
The carbon ceramic construction handles heat, fade, and weight in a way iron rotors fundamentally cannot. At 4.45kg per disc (46% lighter than the factory steel unit) the unsprung-mass and rotating-inertia benefits are immediately felt. The rear axle responds faster, the car feels lighter on its toes, and the brake bias stays consistent from the first stop to the last lap of a hot session.
For G8X M-Cars driven hard, the rear axle is where steel rotors hit their thermal limit first, smaller discs, more concentrated heat, and the consequences show up as inconsistent pedal feel and uneven pad wear. The CCM rear rotor flips that limit: dramatically lower operating temperatures, minimal fade across consecutive heavy braking events, and predictable brake balance under both road and track use.
The 2-piece floating design pairs the ceramic rotor ring with a separate anodized hat so the ring can expand radially and axially as it absorbs heat, eliminating the warping and cracking common in single-piece performance rotors. The cross-drilled rotor face evacuates gas and pad material under hard use, a profile that CCM tolerates exceptionally well thanks to the material's thermal characteristics.
