The MMX Performance G8X M2 / M3 / M4 Dual Differential Mount is a billet drivetrain brace developed to reinforce one of the most heavily loaded components on BMW's S58-powered G8X platform. Built for the G87 M2, G80 / G81 M3, and G82 / G83 M4, it adds a second point of support to the rear differential by using the factory secondary bush mounting hole, a location BMW machined into the differential but left unused.
In standard form the differential is located by a single rear mounting point. Under high-load acceleration and hard cornering that arrangement allows the differential to move within its mounts, and differential mount failures are a known issue across these chassis. By bracing the differential against a second fixed location, the MMX Dual Differential Mount increases stability under load rather than simply reinforcing the original mount.
Controlling that movement does more than tighten up the driveline. It helps prevent the differential and CV seal weeping that excessive movement causes, improves tire traction and overall vehicle dynamics, and sharpens drivetrain response and driver feedback on road and on track.
The mount is CNC machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for strength and low weight, supplied as a two-piece assembly with a black anodized main arm, a clear anodized secondary bracket, and the MMX logo machined into the face. All required hardware is included in the box for a straightforward bolt-on installation.
Fitment is OEM with no modification needed, and the factory differential sump stays in place with no fluid changes required. The Dual Differential Mount is supplied without the secondary bush, and accepts the OEM rubber bush (BMW part number 33 31 6 899 168) as well as polyurethane and solid options, so the balance between comfort and rigidity can be chosen to suit the build. On vehicles already running the MMX High-Capacity Baffled Differential Sump, the mount attaches directly to the sump with no additional hardware.
