Kies Motorsports carries the DOCRace S58 Oil Catch Can Kit — a purpose-built crankcase ventilation solution for BMW G-Series M cars running the DOCRace single turbo conversion. When you've invested in a single turbo build, protecting that engine from the byproducts of its own performance is non-negotiable. This kit handles that properly.

At the core of the system are Radium Engineering billet aluminum oil catch cans — among the most respected units available in the performance market. Radium cans feature integrated condensers, built-in dipsticks for easy fluid level inspection, and large 10AN ORB ports with two-step internal oil separation baffling. They are pressure-sealed, which means they work equally well in closed-loop (recirculate to intake) and open (vent to atmosphere) configurations without requiring an additional inline check valve.

What DOCRace adds to the Radium hardware is a custom-fabricated bracket and pre-routed line kit engineered specifically for the S58 single turbo layout. Off-the-shelf catch can kits are designed for stock twin-turbo routing — they don't account for the repositioned components, altered plumbing paths, and heat zones created by a single turbo conversion. DOCRace solved this: the bracket positions the cans correctly in the engine bay and the lines route cleanly to the crankcase and chosen vent outlet without improvisation.

On any high-boost turbocharged engine, the crankcase generates blow-by gases — a mix of combustion byproducts, unburned fuel vapor, and oil mist that escapes past the piston rings under pressure. Without a catch can, this oily vapor recirculates directly into the intake stream, coating intercooler walls, intake piping, throttle bodies, and intake valves with carbon and oil residue. On a tuned S58, where boost pressure and combustion intensity are elevated, this process is accelerated significantly. A properly installed catch can intercepts these vapors, separates the oil and sludge, and returns only clean air to the engine — or vents it to atmosphere depending on your chosen configuration.
