do88 Carbon Fiber Intake System
BMW M2 / M3 / M4 S58 (G80 G82 G87)
Pre-oiled, washable 105mm cotton gauze filters capture contaminants while maintaining high-volume airflow. Reusable for the life of the system.
Large carbon fiber tubes taper from 105mm to 82.5mm, paired with 83mm cast aluminum turbo inlets — far exceeding the OEM's 61mm and 72mm restrictions.
Fully sealed airboxes with supplementary fresh air feeds behind each headlight keep inlet temperatures low — critical for maintaining power under boost.
Kies Motorsports is proud to offer the do88 Carbon Fiber Intake System for the BMW S58 G-Series — a purpose-engineered, full-replacement intake designed around three non-negotiable priorities for any forced-induction build: filtration quality, unrestricted airflow, and controlled intake air temperatures. This is not an open-filter bolt-on. It is a sealed, engineered system.
The stock S58 intake is functional at factory power levels, but it becomes a meaningful restriction as soon as boost pressure climbs. The OEM plastic airboxes rely solely on bottom-mounted air feeds, and the OEM turbo inlets measure just 61mm and 72mm at their connection points — a genuine bottleneck for any tuned application. Elevated Intake Air Temperatures (IATs) force the ECU to pull timing and reduce power output, or in extreme cases, trigger limp mode during track use.
do88's solution starts with large 7.8-inch sealed carbon fiber airboxes. Rather than relying on the stock bottom-fed air supply, do88 engineered supplementary fresh air openings behind each headlight — adding significant cold air volume to the system. The airbox geometry also provides full clearance for the CSL strut brace, making this system compatible across the entire G8X M range.
Replacing the restrictive OEM plastic intake tubes, do88 designed large, smooth carbon fiber intake pipes that begin at a generous 105mm (4.1") diameter at the filter end and taper smoothly down to 82.5mm (3.25") at the turbo inlets — a design that eliminates sharp bends and transitions that create turbulence and pressure drop.
Where do88 truly separates itself is the custom cast aluminum turbo inlets. Most aftermarket intakes simply swap the airbox and call it done, leaving the restrictive OEM plastic turbo inlets in place. do88 replaces them entirely. The cast aluminum inlets feature 83mm connections and a 53.6mm opening toward the compressor housing — meaningfully larger than any OEM equivalent. Critically, do88 seals to the flat screw flange surface rather than the tube insert side, which allows these inlets to accommodate both stock and hybrid turbos including the Pure S58 STG2+ and TTE940 via the included adapter sleeve kit.
Each carbon fiber tube is fitted with a custom-designed, pre-oiled cotton gauze air filter — dense enough to provide genuine filtration, large enough to support serious airflow. The filters are washable and reusable; do88 recommends cleaning every 20,000 km using a standard cotton filter cleaning product.
OEM vs. do88 — Inlet Size Comparison
The turbo inlet upgrade alone is a significant differentiator over most competing intake kits.
⚠ Installation Notes
- Air filter cleaning is recommended every 20,000 km. Use a universal cleaning product designed for cotton air filters (e.g., BMC Washing Fluid, part WADET500).
- Adapter sleeves for hybrid turbos (Pure S58 STG2+, TTE940) are included. Verify your specific compressor housing diameter before installation.
- This product is intended for off-road, closed-course, and competition use only. Kies Motorsports sells this product for lawful use only. Installation on a public road vehicle may violate federal and state emissions law.
Our BMW specialists can confirm fitment for your specific build, including hybrid turbo compatibility.
