The MMX Performance G42 2-Series Lowering Spring Set closes up the wheel arch gap and sharpens the way the G42 turns in, without giving up the ride quality that makes the car usable every day. MMX developed the spring rates specifically for this chassis and matched them to the factory dampers, so the kit works with both static and Adaptive M suspension and nothing else on the car needs to change.
Lowering the center of gravity reduces body roll and gives the chassis a more responsive feel at speed, with noticeably crisper turn-in. The progressive rate is what keeps that from costing comfort: the springs stay compliant over low-speed bumps and firm up as load builds, so the car is better controlled when pushed without bouncing or crashing over rough surfaces.
MMX offers three part numbers across the G42 range, and the drop differs by model. The M240i sits approximately 20mm lower at the front and 15mm at the rear in both rear-wheel drive and xDrive form. The 218i, 220i and 230i take a deeper 30mm front and 20mm rear drop. Select the application that matches your car from the dropdown.
Each set is finished in MMX's signature metallic grey. Installation is a straightforward spring swap, and a wheel alignment should be carried out afterward to bring the geometry back into specification at the new ride height.
