Diffuser Fitment Guide

When upgrading to a new Carbon Fiber Diffuser, fitment is key. In this brief guide, we will walk you through how to properly secure your new Carbon. Please note, it’s highly recommended to remove the bumper when installing diffusers, and professional installation is always recommended.

Before we begin, let ’s answer a common question. Why can’t I just clip the Carbon Fiber diffuser in, just like the OEM plastic piece?

When we look at the difference between a Carbon diffuser and a plastic diffuser, you’ll notice that the plastic, has the ability to have a more aggressive clip. See the below example:

Due to limitations in the Carbon Fiber manufacturing process, the tabs are often much flatter, as seen in the below picture:

Because of this, it’s highly recommended that the diffuser be installed with the below installation process.

Step 1: Test fit the part PRIOR to drilling, to ensure good fitment.

Step 2: Ensure that the tabs of the diffuser are fully inserted into the bumper and mark the tab in a location where the pin can be fully inserted. If the tab is too small to insert a securing pin, a zip tie can be used as a more low profile substitute.

Included in the Kies Fitment Kit are 6 tabs and one drill bit. Often times, the diffuser can be secured with two tabs, however, some like to use more. We always recommend equally spacing them out, regardless of the amount used.

Step 3: Using the supplied drill bit, carefully drill the marked location. Drilling from the finished side of the carbon will leave the nicest finish, however, sometimes space will be limited and. You may need to drill from the underneath. When drilling from the underneath, go slow and use caution. Its best do drill with the diffuser completely removed from the vehicle.

Step 4: Re-install the diffuser and fully insert all tabs. Then, from the top down, insert the securing pins. As noted above, if space is limited, a zip tie can be used as an alternative.

Step 5: Enjoy your new properly secured Carbon Fiber!
