Build disclaimer: results are not guaranteed.
These guides and parts packages are suggested starting points. Horsepower figures are targets, not guaranteed results. No listed combination guarantees a particular power output, vehicle fitment or level of reliability.
Customers should do their own research and review the complete build with their own engine builder, installer and tuner before purchasing or installing parts. Confirm compatibility, all supporting modifications, fuel and tuning requirements, engine and drivetrain limits, and suitability for the intended use. Results vary with the vehicle, parts, fuel, installation, calibration and operating conditions.
Choose the power goal, then build the entire system around it: turbo, fuel delivery, calibration, cooling, engine, transmission and traction. Each route below identifies what is supported by evidence and what still needs development.
Scope: The main recipes use a left-hand-drive G80 M3 automatic. Other G8X models need chassis-specific changes; the linked JDY kit does not establish F97/F98 or RHD fitment. All power levels are targets, not guaranteed outcomes.
Fitment comes before the horsepower number
System / quantity
Parts, purpose and configuration
Reference application
Main recipes use a left-hand-drive G80 M3 automatic. G81/G82/G83/G87 require individual tank, exhaust, cooling, brake and driveline checks. Manual and RWD combinations need separate clutch/gearbox/driveshaft specifications.
F97 / F98
X3 M/X4 M use their own driveshafts and axles, separate from G8X; see the chassis drivetrain table. The S58 engine is shared, but the linked JDY turbo kit is sold for G8X LHD M2/M3/M4. It is not verified for X3 M/X4 M or RHD vehicles. The Pure listing offers an X3M/X4M core option; fuel systems, plumbing and other parts remain chassis-specific.
Newer model years
Verify VIN, actual DME/ROM and software compatibility. A general engine-family listing or model-year range does not establish CustomROM V2 or MHD+ support.
Injector dimensions
Single-MPI JDY manifold is the proposed rail architecture. Finalize injector height/O-rings/retention and USCAR connection with JDY/Kies; universal injector SKUs require dimensional fitment verification.
Turbo kit packing list
For the JDY S58 kit, verify runner size and catch-can inclusion in writing. Reference-car component substitutions—particularly manifold, engine kit, transmission stage and injector SKU—must be recorded before making a dyno-result claim.
Driveshafts & axles by chassis
Choose the chassis and drivetrain before ordering shafts or axles. Sharing a B58 or S58 engine does not establish interchangeability. These references apply across all four WHP tiers.
The SUV chassis has its own driveshafts and axles. Use the dedicated F97/F98 shaft for OEM 26107855835 or F97/F98 shaft for OEM 26109504250, selected by the existing OEM part number and flange configuration. Model-year ranges overlap; year alone is insufficient. Do not add G8X shafts or rear axles.
F97/F98 axles
Request an X3 M/X4 M-specific axle set through Kies. No verified orderable F97/F98 performance-axle SKU was found in this catalog review, so the G8X axle SKU is excluded from an SUV quote. This is a required sourcing step at high power, not a claim that the SUVs lack aftermarket options.
Other SUV systems
An X3 M/X4 M build also needs its own turbo kit, tank/fuel system, cooling and plumbing selections. The G8X cart builders below remain G80 reference builds; changing only the driveshaft would not convert them into an F97/F98 package.
Cart fitment: the tier carts are limited to the stated reference vehicles. Driveline candidates stay unchecked until their SKU, OEM cross-reference and torque/use are approved. The chassis references above do not silently swap the rest of a build package.
Choose the route for your power target
Compare bootmod3/MHD and Pure/JDY at the lower tiers. At 1,200 WHP, both tuning platforms use the dedicated Custom Race Package; its hardware selection is not restricted to one turbo brand. At 1,000 WHP it also replaces the unsubstantiated Pure-only option with a lower-output calibration. All proposed combinations require final fitment and dyno validation.
Order a G8X custom calibration through Kies, specifying HCP or another tuner who supports the selected turbo and REV2. The HCP stock-turbo OTS map is only an option for a matching stock-turbo configuration; it is not the custom tune for either upgraded-turbo route.
The REV2 base package includes a 7-bar MAP sensor and its plug-in harness. Have the tuner specify any additional charge-pipe MAP sensor and calibrate both; do not buy a duplicate manifold sensor.
Require CustomROM V2 support on the actual DME; verify it with Kies before booking the platform-specific unlock. A generic unlock alone does not establish REV2 compatibility.
Without port injection: use the vehicle-specific High Flow flex kit if the tune uses flex fuel. Do not duplicate its sensor/ECA hardware when moving to the REV2 package.
MOTIV ProTUNING S58 with the correct chassis, hybrid/single-turbo and flex-fuel options. Purchase the initial service, not an “Additional Map” listing.
With port injection or JDY external wastegates: Visconti S58/B58 Sequential Port Injection controller package, selecting MHD+ | FULL CANBUS → Complete Kit → exact chassis. Require confirmation of current ReFlex hardware revision and six-injector support before purchase.
Full kit lists a ReFlex controller, integration/injector harnesses, mounting, fuel-pressure sensor and ethanol sensor. Port-injection rail/manifold, injectors and the aftermarket-manifold feed line are separate.
Without port injection: MHD CAN FlexFuel kit for a flex tune. The Visconti package does not integrate competing flex kits; plan one ethanol-sensor/controller architecture.
Verify MHD+ support and two-way DME safeties on the actual ROM. Configure loss-of-PI and fuel-pressure protection in the custom tune.
Controller ≠ complete fueling system. Both paths also need the rail/manifold, six injectors, the correct feed/return connections, fuel pump supply and working protection logic. For a JDY conversion, include a tuner-approved PWM boost solenoid, its connector/loom and pressure hoses. The listed controller packages support boost control but do not supply the solenoid; Kies must itemize it in the installation quote.
Supporting mods every tier starts with
All tiers below include this foundation and one tuning-platform package. Tier lists show the additional hardware. Items marked “quote” are still part of the build and must be itemized by Kies before it becomes an orderable package.
System / quantity
Parts, purpose and configuration
Before parts
Record VIN, engine generation, exhaust-port layout, DME hardware/software, chassis, steering side, gearbox and drivetrain. Baseline dyno and scan; inspect compression/leakdown where condition warrants, fuel pressure, ignition, oil/coolant system and existing leaks. Resolve faults before increasing load.
Software · 1 platform
Use one complete platform package above. Kies USA DME unlock only if required for that DME; specify bootmod3 or MHD and required custom-ROM features. Include stable flashing power supply, installation and professional calibration in the quote.
Ignition · 6 plugs
S58 NGK six-plug bundle. Tuner chooses heat range and gap from the actual build; replace faulty coils, rather than treating “upgraded coils” as mandatory horsepower hardware.
Transmission
Record the transmission code and condition. xHP G-Series/Supra 8-speed license is an automatic-transmission calibration option where supported; tune torque reporting and shifts to match the engine. It does not increase the mechanical capacity of clutch packs. Manual cars need a separately matched clutch/flywheel and gearbox plan.
Fluids & service
Fresh engine-builder-specified oil/filter and coolant; service transmission, differential and transfer case where due. Quote correct gaskets, seals, clamps, single-use fasteners and turbo priming supplies by VIN. A universal fluid grade or fill quantity is deliberately not specified.
Braking & traction
EBC Bluestuff front pads + rear pads are catalog candidates for the reference chassis with matching iron brake hardware. Confirm caliper/rotor fitment and usage; include suitable brake fluid, sound rotors and tires selected by wheel size, load/speed rating and use. Carbon-ceramic brake cars need their own pad selection.
Validation
Log boost target/actual, lambda, timing corrections, low- and high-side fuel pressure, injector use, ethanol content, charge-air/oil/coolant/transmission temperatures and torque limits. Verify reduced-power behavior for fuel-pressure loss, PI fault and overboost. Repeat loaded runs to check heat soak and transmission slip.

500 WHP TARGET
Establish the baseline
Keep the factory twin turbos for a sensible 500-WHP baseline. Establish what the specific M2/M3/M4 already makes, then request a controlled pump-fuel calibration if needed. Upgraded Pure or JDY turbos here are optional preparations for a later power target.

Keep the factory twins for the normal 500-WHP plan. Stage 2+ is an optional reduced-output build for an owner planning future tiers, with a custom calibration for the upgraded twins. [S2]
A single-turbo conversion is unnecessary for 500 WHP. If chosen for future expansion, retain the complete turbo-installation/boost-control package and use a tuner-approved low-output map. Minimum wastegate-spring boost and response must suit the requested limit. [S3]

Fuel & tuning
Start with high-quality pump fuel supported by the map, typically 93 AKI for this planning target. Retain the healthy DI system; no port injection, flex sensor or LPFP upgrade is required solely because the target is 500 WHP. If using ethanol, add the matching platform’s flex hardware and a fuel-system review.
Turbo & calibration
Factory twins are the baseline. Pure Stage 2+ or JDY 6870 are optional future-growth conversions requiring a custom tune even when the requested power is low. The HCP stock-turbo map reports higher output with its required hardware, so it should not be sold as an exact 500-WHP limiter or used on upgraded turbos. [T1]
Intake / exhaust / cooling
Healthy factory airboxes, catalyst system and cooling can remain if the selected calibration supports them. Upgraded downpipes, intake and charge-cooler manifold are not mandatory 500-WHP purchases. If running JDY, install its full conversion hardware and required JDY catch can.
Engine & drivetrain
No automatic requirement for forged internals or a built transmission at this target on a healthy vehicle. Inspect condition and control torque. Apply the foundation’s brake/traction/service requirements.
JDY-only electronics
Even a low-output single-turbo map needs compatible boost control: use the selected platform/controller, a properly sized wastegate spring, boost solenoid and plumbing. Port injectors may remain omitted when DI capacity is sufficient and the custom calibration is configured accordingly.

JDY S58 billet charge-cooler manifold in the single-MPI configuration provides the proposed upgraded cooler and six-injector rail. Confirm lower-runner/rail selection, included fuel connections, injector retention and pressure-sensor port. Do not buy a second standalone PI rail for the same manifold.
Precision Raceworks AFS.800 for G8X/G2X provides dedicated PI supply, two Walbro 535 pumps, regulator, filter and fuel lines. Use the G87/G42-specific kit for a G87. Check regulator pressure reference, maximum operating-pressure flow, ethanol compatibility, line/rail adapters and pump electrical load. Retain and validate the primary DI supply. [F1]
Primary fuel system
Healthy factory HPFPs/direct injectors remain subject to the tuner’s DI/PI split and rail-pressure validation. JDY Stage 1/2 LPFP is an alternative combined-feed architecture at lower targets, not an extra item to stack automatically with AFS. Its listing claims 850/950 WHP for pump options; those figures do not support a 1,200-WHP combined-feed package.
Control & sensors
Choose bootmod3/REV2 or MHD+/Visconti ReFlex from the platform section. Include ethanol and fuel-pressure sensing, correct injector harness, fused pump activation and fault response. At four-digit targets add REV2 coolant-pressure monitoring on the bootmod3 route; MHD needs a separately verified compatible sensing strategy. Quote any high-range MAP/TMAP sensor upgrades required by target boost.
Pure installation
Use the supplied Pure inlet parts; inspect factory airboxes and choose an intake only when the tuner identifies a restriction. JDY S58 stock-location titanium charge pipe is a candidate for the twin-turbo layout. Active Autowerke catted G8X downpipes require catalyst thermal/flow suitability and permitted-use review at the selected target. These are not a certified 1,000-WHP exhaust package.
JDY installation
Kit lists the manifold, single-turbo downpipe, wastegates, charge piping, intake filter, thermal shielding, oil/coolant plumbing and coolant-reservoir relocation. Add the required JDY S58 catch can unless the selected kit quote includes it. Verify relocated high-pressure fuel lines. Add the quoted boost solenoid, pressure hoses and wiring; do not buy twin-turbo downpipes or a stock-location charge pipe for this conversion.
Cooling & fluids
CSF front heat exchanger + CSF transmission cooler + CSF engine oil cooler form the proposed repeated-use cooling package. Verify radiator/coolant-pump condition and measure recovery between pulls. Cooler upgrades support thermal control, not an additive horsepower claim.
Engine internals
5150 S58 engine kit is an optional risk-reduction build at 800 WHP. A healthy stock long block may be retained only with a tuner-approved torque/fuel plan and owner acceptance of the mechanical risk; no universal safe limit is established here.
Cams & valvetrain
Retain factory cams unless the chosen turbo and use justify a change. Valve-spring and backpressure review belongs in the tuning/build plan; do not assume cams are mandatory for 800 WHP.
Transmission & driveline
Pure 8HP76 Stage 2 rebuild is the proposed automatic gearbox package; select converter/stall and internal specification by actual torque. Add xHP where compatible. Review DSS G80/G82 rear axles and xDrive-specific driveshaft/axle package as alternatives where overlap exists. Review differential mounts and transfer case; RWD/G87/manual cars need their own driveline parts. No stage name supplies a verified WHP durability limit.
Build recommendation: fuel, injector sizing, engine reinforcement and transmission choices in this table are planning recommendations, not proof that this exact combination has made the target. Finalize the missing quoted items and validate the assembled car before representing it as a tested package.

Engine internals
5150 Pro-Xtreme S58 build kit is the proposed builder-review package: pistons/pins, rods, bearings, head/main fasteners, gasket and sleeves. Its advertised HP rating is not a WHP certification. Include machine work, cylinder sealing, balancing, clearances and assembly; builder chooses whether sleeves and other components are appropriate. [S4]
Cams & valvetrain
GSC S58 S2 278/274 cam set is the cam family documented in the Kies high-power example. Quote compatible springs/retainers, the correct cam-limiter solution, timing/clearance work and any required valve upgrades. Cams and cam-gear limiting together added 145 WHP on that specific car; the gain is not universal. [S1]

For G87 use the G42/G87-specific system instead. Validate delivery at operating rail pressure and electrical voltage; the catalog’s 3-bar flow is not the available flow under full boost. [F1]
1 · Primary DI fuel plan
Retain healthy S58 HPFPs and DI injectors only when the approved DI/PI split and logs demonstrate sufficient capacity. Inspect the primary in-tank supply and DI injectors. AFS is dedicated PI supply; primary-system upgrades are added only when the calculated demand requires them.
1 · Boost control & sensors
A tuner-specified PWM boost solenoid, wastegate reference hoses/fittings, heat protection and connector/loom are required quoted items. Size the wastegate spring for the minimum map and use closed-loop boost control. Include working ethanol, PI fuel-pressure and appropriately ranged MAP sensing; wire and validate overboost, pressure-loss and PI-fault response.
Pure Drivetrain 8HP76 Stage 3 with a matched converter and xHP calibration where supported. Obtain a torque/use-specific build specification, stall selection and clutch-pressure strategy from the rebuilder. Pure Drivetrain supplies the gearbox, independently of the turbo brand. Confirm included converter/fluid/pan contents to avoid duplicate purchases.
1 · Driveline package
DSS reference-chassis rear axles + DSS xDrive driveshaft / driveline option. Specify matching shaft length, flanges and axle selection; some S58 options already bundle axles. Include differential, mounts and transfer-case inspection/reinforcement in the quote. Supplier approval is by actual torque and use; catalog “HP” labels are not a 1,200-WHP durability guarantee.
6 plugs · Ignition & service
S58 NGK six-plug bundle. Tuner sets heat range/gap; test coils and replace where needed. Include engine-builder-approved oil/filter, coolant, gearbox/differential/transfer-case service and all installation seals/fasteners.
1 · Brake / traction / chassis plan
EBC reference-chassis front pads + rear pads are fitment candidates for matching iron brakes. Finalize rotor condition, fluid, wheel/tire size and compound, suspension/alignment and event-required protection for the car’s speed and use. These choices are part of the package quote, not established by horsepower alone.
1 · Fuel & dyno commissioning plan
Use one measured, tuner-approved ethanol-rich fuel specification and calibrate for it. E85R is the documented S58 reference fuel; pump E85 is not automatically equivalent. Begin with a lower-load map and raise output only after fuel delivery, lambda, timing, crankcase/coolant pressure, thermal control and gearbox behavior pass validation. Record dyno type, correction, fuel, torque and final hardware with the result.
Why this is a 1,200-WHP target package
The DOCRace/Precision combination is a new proposed route. Precision’s 7475 specification and the Kies kit options support the component selection, while the separate JDY/bootmod3 Kies car demonstrates that an extensively supported S58 has reached 1,218 WHP. That car does not validate this DOCRace package or its MHD calibration. [S1][S5][S6]
Documented turbo alternative:JDY 7275 / recirculated / 0.96 A/R kit follows the turbo family used in the 1,218-WHP reference. If selected, use the JDY-specific installation hardware and required JDY catch can in place of the DOCRace turbo/catch-can assembly. Keep a separately validated calibration for either tuning platform. [S1][S3]
Package completion: Kies must finalize the VIN-specific fitments, turbo operating point, fuel-capacity calculation, engine/transmission work and quoted small parts before ordering. The package is designed around a 1,200-WHP goal; achieved power is established by the completed car’s dyno record. For a 1,000-WHP build, retain the same supporting hardware and commission a lower-output calibration.

Measured reference · Built-engine G80
1,218 WHP with JDY + bootmod3
The reference paired a JDY 7275 with E85R, HCP/REV2, built engine, upgraded Pure transmission, AFS.800 and cams. It supports this specific high-power direction. It does not validate the MHD adaptation or turn different engine/manifold/injector choices into a proven replica.
Evidence standard: measured vehicle results, manufacturer capability statements and proposed engineering selections are identified separately. Turbo model numbers, pump names and unspecified “HP” ratings are never converted into WHP. No fixed drivetrain-loss percentage is applied.

[S3] JDY: S58 single-turbo kit Kit hardware, manifold sizing, required catch can and heat management. Use the actual Kies variant selection for ordering.
[S4] Kies: S58 engine build kit Stage labels use HP without a stated wheel/crank basis. The listing recommends additional cylinder sealing above 1,000 HP; builder must size for the WHP goal.
[S5] Kies: DOCRace S58 kit and selected options Live variant 42428352364629 selects PTE7475 Next Gen Sportsman, 1.5-inch Schedule 40 runners and the VTA catch-can option. This is the proposed alternative package’s turbo kit. Descriptive copy contains other turbo choices; the selected variant governs the order.
[S6] Precision: Next Gen Sportsman 7475 74-mm compressor / 75-mm turbine. Precision describes upwards of 1,350 HP; the Kies option title says 1,400 HP. Neither is a 1,200-WHP dyno result. Confirm the exact revision, turbine housing and required airflow with the tuner.
[C1] Kies: REV2 requirements and contents Gen 2 B58/S58, CustomROM V2 requirement, pressure/flex options, harness and MAP sensor contents. Ordinary platform unlock and CustomROM V2 support are separate checks.
[C2] MHD: current supported features MHD+ DME port-injection control and custom safeties vary by engine and software version. Feature availability must be checked against the actual ROM.
[C3] Kies: Visconti S58/B58 controller package Full-kit controller, harnesses, pressure and ethanol sensor contents. Rail/manifold and manifold fuel feed are separate; competing flex kits are not integrated.
[F1] Kies: Precision Raceworks AFS configurations AFS.800 is a two-pump auxiliary system; its name describes nominal fuel flow, not an 800-WHP ceiling. Catalog flow is at 3 bar, not at peak rail pressure under boost.
[F2] Injector Dynamics: ID1750-XDS data Universal 1750.34.14.14 configuration, fuel compatibility and pressure-dependent characterization. Nominal flow is 1,728 cc/min at 3 bar; product family naming is not exact flow.
[T1] Kies: HCP S58 stock-turbo map Reports 600–640 WHP on 93+ octane and 700–740 WHP on E50 with specified supporting mods. It is explicitly a stock-turbo bootmod3 product, not a JDY/Pure custom tune.
Finish the bill of materials with Kies
The tier cart builders add the selected catalog parts with live price and availability checks. They do not include unchecked parts or quoted work. A parts cart is not a complete installed or dyno-validated package. The following must be resolved in a Kies build quote:
Confirm VIN/chassis, fuel availability, target torque and use. Quote exact variants and current lead times; active/orderable is not proof of physical stock.
Itemize omitted small parts: correct turbo installation gasket/seal/bolt set, air-filter/inlet hardware, boost solenoid and hoses, high-range sensors/adapters, rail fittings and pressure-reference plumbing.
Confirm injector/manifold dimensions and provide the combined DI+PI fuel budget at the chosen ethanol content, differential fuel pressure and duty cycle. At high boost the pump sees rail pressure above base pressure; free-flow/catalog figures are insufficient.
Name the custom tuner, approved ROM/controller firmware and scope: flex fuel, PI fault handling, pump control, electronic/pneumatic wastegate strategy, torque reporting and dyno revisions.
Quote engine and transmission labor, machine work, sealing, valvetrain work, converter, drivetrain reinforcement, installation, fluids and dyno validation. These cannot be costed accurately from engine name and WHP alone.
Select tires and brake hardware by the actual wheels, calipers, vehicle weight and intended use. Include track-required rollover protection, harness/seat system, fire equipment and other safety equipment through a separate race-preparation review; their Kies availability was not verified.
Package review. The custom package adds a DOCRace/Precision option; the documented JDY 7275 remains an alternative. Neither the DOCRace combination nor its MHD adaptation has a verified 1,200-WHP result here. The exact Precision revision/housing and G8X upgraded-turbo custom-tuning service must be confirmed. HCP’s linked OTS product remains stock-turbo only.
Provide Kies with the page, desired route, VIN, existing modifications and intended fuel to finalize the bill of materials. The cart builder shows a selected-parts subtotal; the complete project cost also includes the quoted work.
Use and reliability: the listed Pure turbo and several tuning products carry competition-use restrictions. Follow each manufacturer’s restrictions and the rules applicable to the vehicle. Professional installation and calibration are required; no dyno output, stock-engine limit, component life or warranty outcome is promised.
